REFORMER

REFORMER CLASSES & COURSES

Reformer is a low-impact workout that will help you feel strong and achieve your goals. Not only does it help create toned, lean bodies, but it also addresses muscle imbalances, improves posture and balance, increases flexibility, and reduces tension for optimal body function.

Please see below for class levels.

CLASS LEVELS

FOUNDATION

If you are new to Reformer or looking to build confidence in the fundamental exercises within a supportive and structured environment, Reformer Foundations is the perfect introduction to Reformer classes. Your instructor will explain how the Reformer works and help you become familiar with how your body feels when using it.

These classes are taught at a steady pace, allowing you to develop safe and effective techniques. This ensures a smooth progression to Flow classes when you feel ready.

Foundations 13+ is designed for members aged 13 and over.

FLOW

This energising class blends traditional and contemporary exercises to target your entire body, with a focus on core strength. Moving at a slightly slower pace than our Dynamic class, it offers creative sequences that enhance muscle engagement and deepen your understanding of movement.

By the end of the session, you’ll feel stronger, lengthened, and more connected. Ideal for improvers, Flow classes are perfect for those who have completed Reformer Foundations and are ready to progress.

DYNAMIC

This high-energy class focuses on enhancing balance, flexibility, and core strength while sculpting lean muscles.

You’ll be guided through a full-body workout of strengthening exercises and innovative stretches, targeting weaker areas and elongating tight muscles. By the end of the session, you’ll feel energised and perfectly aligned.

This class is ideal for those at an intermediate level and beyond.

GETTING STARTED

If you’re new to Reformer classes, we recommend starting with Foundations before progressing to Flow and then advancing to Dynamic.

If you have an injury, please attend Foundations classes until your instructor advises you to progress to Flow. While we aim to support your practice, we are not physiotherapists and cannot diagnose or tailor classes specifically around injuries.

If you require 1-to-1 sessions to aid with recovery, please contact Caroline Taylor at CarolineT@colets.co.uk for more information.

JULIA

Profile picture of Pilates instructor
  • I’m a mum of one, a wife, and a Pilates Instructor, and I know how busy life can be, but I believe it is important to take care of yourself. This is why I got into Pilates. I had a road accident in 2013, I was on a bike and was hit by a van, although there were no bones broken, my back hurt. Nothing the doctors did made it any better. Then, I was recommended Pilates by the hospital pain clinic, and that moment altered the course of my life. After a few years of self-practice I realised I wanted to take my Pilates to the next level. This led me to starting on the journey to become a certified Body Control Pilates instructor. As our beautiful bodies age, I realised that strength training is important so I went to learn Kettlebell. I love my practise on Pilates reformer and so it seemed obvious to me to train on this and am now a qualified reformer teacher delighted to share this beautiful piece of equipment with the world.
