WHAT IS A VO₂ TEST?
VO₂ testing measures maximum oxygen uptake (VO₂ max), a key indicator of cardiovascular fitness and endurance. It is typically performed on a treadmill or stationary bike while wearing a heart rate monitor to track cardiovascular response.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
We offer 2 tests which vary in intensity - Maximal and Submaximal. Your instructor will review your PAR-Q and discuss with you the most appropriate option. We will provide you with an arm Heartrate monitor to wear throughout the assessment. The session will take no longer than 30mins.
WHY SHOULD I DO A TEST?
This test helps determine aerobic capacity, heart rate zones, and training efficiency.
It is widely used by athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and medical professionals to assess fitness levels, optimise training plans, and monitor overall health. While highly effective, it is an intense test and should be approached with caution, especially for individuals with underlying health conditions.
Members are entitled to a 30min checkup appointment. We advise all members to attend a Biostrength induction and VO₂ test prior to this appointment.
HOW DO I BOOK?
Book in for a VO₂ with an instructor via reception or with an instructor directly.
This appointment is not appropriate for anyone with respiratory, cardiovascular and metabolic conditions. If you have any medical conditions, please speak with an instructor prior to booking.
