We are looking for an assistant groundsman to join our team. As the home to the Old Pauline Sports Clubs, we have a very active sporting programme year round including cricket, football and rugby. We are proud to have some of the best grounds around and so this role is pivotal in that continuing.

The potential candidate is likely to be currently working in a similar position at a sports club or golf club with good experience of turf management. The position will be a 30-hour week with some flexibility required in terms of shift pattern.

Taking instruction from our Head Groundsman, day-to-day duties would include…

Driving a tractor (gang mowing, harrowing etc)

Using powered mowers & rollers

Using a variety of power hand tools

Using pitch-line equipment

The successful candidate would be required to learn the basics of good pitch maintenance including seeding/fertilising, verti-draining, watering and mowing.
