Here at Colets it is not just our members physical wellbeing that we care about – mental health is equally important which is why we wanted to highlight Children’s Mental Health Week, taking place from the 7th to the 13th February.
With a range of Junior Activities available at Colets including soft play and mini activities for our younger members and junior gym and swim squad for those slightly older, we have forms of exercise sessions available for children to help improve their self-esteem and lower their stress levels.
By getting them involved with something new such as our newly added sumba dance session, if your kids enjoy the exercise that they are doing, they are more likely to keep up with it – ensuring that they will feel happier within themselves in the long term.
As we all know, exercise can also be a great way to socialise – whether it is with friends or meeting new people in a session, it can be a real help in distracting children from stressful and negative thoughts. As they reach 14, there is more room for them to become more independent and confident in terms of going to the gym (once they have completed a gym induction of course!)
Here at Colets, we want to ensure that all of our members – no matter their age – are looking after themselves mentally as well as physically. With many Junior Activities included as part of your child’s membership, don’t forget to check out the Junior Activity timetable here .
