For some, exercising and motivation comes easy. However, for many, finding motivation can at times be a struggle and having a training partner or indeed, partners, could be just the solution!
Finding likeminded members though is not easy on your own and this is where our brand-new Buddy Programme is designed to help. Whether you are into the gym, squash, swimming or would like to try a new class, having more people to train with can only be a good thing! More visits, more fitness and most importantly, more fun too!
Over the past year or so, we’ve noticed a trend whereby members, both new and old, have mentioned that it would be great if there was somebody to help motivate them to go to they gym when they are just not feeling like it. We’ve all experienced days where we are extremely motivated to go to the gym or perhaps a class. However, all too common are those days where we find an excuse to not go. Perhaps, if we had the motivation from a training buddy, these days would start to dwindle. Training buddies can be there for each other to offer some encouragement when needed.
Our initial intention for this new programme is to receive some interest from those who feel like they could benefit. From here, we would hope to get everyone together, perhaps over a coffee morning or even at a wine-tasting event and start putting members in contact with those who are likely to train at similar times, or are interested in the same kind of exercise. Whilst we do of course offer free, regular re-assessments in the gym and personal training, we think that this scheme could be a great addition to what is already on offer at the club and help us all to exercise a little more often.
This is new for us and so we are really keen to work with members to make the initiative a success so any suggestions are welcome. We hope that this will lead to a few more social activities amongst our members too so even if you are already a regular gym-goer then get in touch!
