Meet The Team - Kathy Stewart

Kathy Stewart is one of our fantastic swimming teachers and has been working as a swimming teacher for close to 20 years now. Swimming has always been a passion for Kathy and she began teaching when the Head of P.E at the school she was working at suggested that she take her passion and turn it into a career. Kathy found herself at Colets Health Club 11 years ago and since then has seen numerous children and families progress from taking their first steps into the pool to becoming very capable & confident swimmers and some pupils even going on to working as lifeguards at the club!

Kathy believes it’s the consistency that our swim school provides that makes Colets a great place to learn to swim. Katharine, another one of our Swim teachers, has been with Colets for 18 years and it’s the knowledge that children will see the same faces when they arrive for each lesson that allows families to develop the trust necessary to learn to swim confidently and safely. Kathy attributes the fact that a large number of lessons are hands on, with instructors in the water alongside children, to further building the relationship between teacher and child which helps progress confidence, skill development and technique in the pool.

In addition to group and private lessons, our Junior Membership gives access to our Swim Squad for 9-14 year olds (Grade 4+) to improve their stamina – this weekly session is free with membership.

Our swimming lessons aren’t just for children though with adult lessons for beginners and intermediate levels taking place on Wednesday evenings and Swim Fit sessions throughout the week for anyone who wants to work on developing their cardiovascular fitness in the water.

If you are interested in learning to swim with Colets Health Club or have any questions about our swimming provision/pricing, please contact Kathy via email or contact the club reception on 0208 3987108.
